Trailer Reviews

Today our trailer was presented to our class. We received a lot of positive feedback and a little advice on how to improve the trailer. We also have looked at the feedback we received after posting our trailer on Facebook. The responses were very similar so we felt it was important to make the changes advised since so many people felt it necessary. Our only advice we were given was to edit our reviews inter title. This was because we had a spelling mistake and it was preferred that there wasn't a voice over. We have now corrected these issues and have our finished trailer.

Finishing and uploading trailer

Today me and my partner added sound to the background of our trailer. Before we did this we researched trailers online to see what they had done. We noticed that there was 2 different techniques we could use, the first one is to have slow music that builds up towards the end creating suspense. The other option is to have some grime, RnB or Hip-Hop music to match the setting and target audience. We decided to use the first option as this would attract a bigger range of target audience.

I am also going to upload the trailer onto Facebook so that we can get reviews and advice from hundreds of people.

Almost finished editing

Today me and my partner finished editing our trailer. We moved some of the scenes about from our original order because we thought in chronological order we gave away too much of the plot. I also added a voice over to make the trailer more professional and help explain the plot. Music has been added to the background to make it more interesting, energetic and fun. We just need to have it looked at for advice on how we can improve it. I tried to upload it onto facebook so friends could see it and tell me what they thing but there was a software problem so i will look into that and upload the video as soon as possible.

More editing

Today we uploaded the other half of our filming for trailer. We started editing but have been trying out scenes in diffrent orders to see if it would improve the trailer. We also started looking at adding music and sound effects to our trailer. We found some good beats for our kidnapping and chase scene but still have a little left to do.

Plot sheet

I have uploaded the pictures of plot sheets created by myself and my partner. These plot sheets have help us us organize ourselves ready for when we go filming. We wrote down things like what props we need and who we need to act so we don't miss anything important. This will also help us when we are editing so the scenes are in the right order.

Developing our own ideas

For the past few weeks me and my filming partner James Coy; have been developing our plot sheet. For example we have decided it is more practical and safe if instead of having character Tyrone escape out his bedroom window before his kidnapping scene. Instead we will start straight to him walking alone besides a road and is attacked and put into the boot of a car.

We have also been location hunting and taken pictures that we will soon upload onto my blog.

Main Image

After looking for a main imadge for the poster and website i think that a good picture would be one with a gun pointed towards the camera. This is because it is used in many urban films from all over the world, such as:

'City Of God', (Brazil)

'Le Haine' (France)

'Taxi Driver' (United States of America)
